First Steps

After you complete the Trading Partner Service Agreement (TPSA) and your payment is received, there are 5 simple steps to start synchronizing data through the 1SYNC Data Pool.

Step 1: Establish a core business team.This team will manage the process within your company. 1SYNC recommends that your team include both technical and business resources.

Technical resource:

  • Manages day-to-day functionality
  • Participates in task group
  • Onboards with retailers and manufacturers

Business resource:

  • Makes executive decisions regarding program direction
  • Evaluates business requirements

Step 2: Gather implementation information

  • Visit the customer-only website for technical documents, task group information, and implementation notes.

Step 3: Choose an implementation method. You may choose 1SYNC Onboard Support or a Self Implement option. Details of both are provided on the Implementation Options page in this section. 

Step 4: Locate and prepare your data.

  • Clean your data! It is especially important to begin with clean data to ensure the accuracy of data exchanged during the synchronization process.
  • Locate your Global Location Number (GLN) and Global Trade Items Numbers® (GTINs®)

Step 5: Synchronize your data.

  • Add clean product information into the 1SYNC Data Pool and test the process.
  • Establish a relationship with a retailer to synchronize item information.
  • Add any required (industry or retailer specific) additional data attributes. Transmit those attributes to the selected retailer.
  • Roll out product information to other retail partners.
  • Move to production.
